torrent

within the unassuming meantime
of any other morning
i happen to look up
in time to see
...a flurry of blood-red leaves
dancing up the path
as if nothing ever really
mattered anyway.

as one thought follows
another and another
i wonder about you
...with a heart as magnificent
as thunder
- dancing naked
spring-rain baptised
as if no-one was really
watching anyhow.

these things they matter
- lost memory moments
that make us, yet
now gather dust until
an unassuming moment
draws them forth with a
torrent of tears.
